How to Meet with All Squadmates in Mass Effect 3: Citadel (2024)

The Citadel DLC in Mass Effect 3 is widely considered the best Mass Effect DLC and one of the best DLCs in gaming, partially due to the more casual squadmate encounters players can have following its main mission. After defeating Shepard's Clone in Mass Effect 3: Citadel, the squad finally has a chance to take a vacation as the Normandy undergoes necessary maintenance. Shepard can visit the casino, arcade, or combat simulator to earn credits and enjoy mini-games, complete challenges, and earn rewards, and they can meet up with all living current and former members of their squad to spend time at the apartment or on the Silversun Strip. To get some of these encounters, players will need to have spoken to their former squadmates during their special cameo missions.

Because many players wait to start the Citadel DLC until just before Priority: Cerberus Headquarters and the endgame, it is important for Shepard to meet with everyone before throwing their big party and experience everything they want to before they board the Normandy and prepare for the final confrontation with the Reapers. It will be difficult if not impossible for them to return later and finish anything they missed. Here's how to make sure Shepard has a chance to spend time with all their current and former squadmates in Mass Effect 3: Citadel.

How to Trigger Squadmate Meetups in Mass Effect 3: Citadel

How to Meet with All Squadmates in Mass Effect 3: Citadel (1)

To meet with every living member of Shepard's squad, past and present, in Mass Effect 3: Citadel, players will first need to complete the Mass Effect 3 side missions that include former squadmate cameos. Following these missions, Shepard's Mass Effect 2 squadmates will often be available on the Citadel to have a brief chat before players complete the next main story mission. Shepard needs to make a point to stop and talk with these characters on the Citadel to trigger their encounter in the DLC.

The characters Shepard must speak to if they want to trigger a meetup in the Citadel DLC, and the mission after which they can be found on the Citadel, appear below:

  • Jack: In Purgatory nightclub afterGrissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation
  • Jacob: In Huerta Memorial Hospital afterArrae: Ex-Cerberus Scientists
  • Zaeed: In the Docks: Holding Area with the refugees afterCitadel: Volus Ambassador
  • Samara: Near the Embassies afterArdat-Yakshi Monastery

Grunt, Miranda, and Kasumi have no post-mission conversations. Completing,Attican Traverse: Krogan Team andCitadel: Hanar Diplomatand helping Miranda with her special mission ahead of Priority: Horizon will be enough to trigger their meetups should they all survive.

Additionally, Shepard must talk to Joker, EDI, Garrus, Tali, Javik, Samantha, Steve, James, Ashley or Kaidan, Wrex, and Liara at some point during the downtime between missions and when they spend time on the Citadel, they will not be available for a meetup during the Citadel DLC. To find out where everyone is each time the Normandy docks at the Citadel, Shepard should check the map.

How to Meet with All Squadmates in Mass Effect 3: Citadel (2)

Once players finish the main campaign of Mass Effect 3: Citadel, they can return to the apartment and will begin receiving messages at their private terminal from squadmates hoping to meet up. To invite squadmates up to the apartment, players will need to open the terminal and choose the option on the left side of the screen, where tutorial and upgrade information is usually found. Once they invite a squadmate up, the associated meetup cutscene will play. If a squadmate asks to meet Shepard elsewhere, they will need to leave the apartment and go to the destination on theSilversun Strip. There will usually be a prominent node instructing players where to wait for the associated squadmate. Interacting with this node will trigger the cutscene.

Only Kasumi, Joker, and Wrex will need to have their meetups triggered manually. For Kasumi, Shepard will need to go to the Silver Coast Casino and investigate the strange device. For Wrex and Joker, they will need to go to the Silver Coast Casino bar and interact with the node that says Wait for Joker or Wait for Wrex. This also can be true for Javik, whose email sometimes fails to trigger. His node can be found at the end of the Strip.

When Shepard gets through all the email requests, they will want to leave the apartment, play a mini-game to earn some extra credits, and come back. This will often trigger new messages. Many squadmates have multiple meetups, so it is important to leave and come back frequently to access all of them. When emails stop coming in, Shepard can start the big party that serves as the finale to Mass Effect 3: Citadel and invite everyone they met up with for one final get-together before the endgame.
