4-H Enrollment: Due April 15th!

by Leslie Cooksey

Hello Parents, Youth and Advisors,

I hope your week is going well! This email serves as a reminder that the 4-HOnline Enrollment deadline is fast approaching, the deadline to enroll to participate in 4-H this year is April 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Enrollments will not be accepted after this date and time. We encourage you to enroll sooner rather than later, in case there may be any issues with your enrollment.

A couple of enrollment reminders:

  1. Individuals who are enrolling in dog projects (excluding 200 All About Dogs) must be enrolled in 201D You and Your Dog, along with any of the other projects they wish. We do recommend that you sign up for all of the dog projects, in case your youth change their minds before the show at the fair. These projects are 201P Performance, 201S Showmanship, and 201O Obedience.
  2. The only projects that Cloverbuds are permitted to be enrolled in are 710GMP Cloverbud Activities and 710HC County-Only Cloverbud Horse Curriculum. If you have a Cloverbud who is enrolling in 710HC, they must also be enrolled in 710GMP.
  3. If you would like to participate in classes at the state fair, they must be enrolled in the project they are planning on taking. For example, if you have a youth who would like to take a market barrow and a breeding gilt to the Ohio State Fair, they must be enrolled in 139 Market Hog Project and Record Book and 140 Swine Breeding Project and Record Book.
  4. MQP Entries will be made in the respective market-animal species. For example, if youth plan on taking a Muscle, Quality and Performance Hog, youth should be enrolled in 139 Market Hog Project and Record Book. Additionally, MQP and Carcass entries also require an application. Applications for any goat, swine, lamb, or beef MQP or carcass programs must be received on-line by April 15, 2024. Find more details about MQP and links to each of the application portals here: https:go.osu.edu/mqp
  5. Enrollments for the new finished Dairy Steer project should be in 117 Beef Project and Record Book.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the 4-HOnline enrollment process. Please enroll your youth as soon as possible. I will be holding weekend office hours to handle any last-minute 4-HOnline or Enrollment Questions on April 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and April 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
